Entry requirements
Undergraduate
- HSC with strong results; most universities of applied sciences use an international entrance exam or SAT
- IELTS 6.0 overall, no band below 5.5
- Motivation letter; some programmes conduct online interviews

Postgraduate
- Relevant bachelor's degree with good academic standing (CGPA 3.0+ competitive)

Student residence permit holders may work up to 30 hours per week on average, one of the most generous allowances in Europe. After graduation, you can apply for a two-year permit to seek employment or start a business in Finland.

When should I apply for Finnish universities?
The main joint application window runs in early January for the August intake, and popular programmes fill immediately. Bangladeshi students should have IELTS, transcripts and motivation letters ready by December — we recommend starting preparation a full year ahead.
How realistic are the tuition scholarships in Finland?
Very realistic. Most Finnish universities award 50% scholarships widely to strong admitted applicants, and many offer 100% early-bird or merit awards. Several of our students currently study in Finland paying half tuition or less.
How much bank balance do I need for the Finnish residence permit?
You must show at least €800 per month — roughly €9,600 for the first year — in your own account, alongside first-year tuition payment or a scholarship covering it. Migri prefers the funds in the student's own name, so plan transfers from sponsors early.
Can I stay in Finland after graduating?
Yes. Graduates receive a two-year job-seeking residence permit, and Finland's growing tech sector actively recruits international talent. Permanent residency is possible after four years of continuous residence, with study time counting partially towards it.
